You'll soon see some familiar faces from Rick and Morty strutting their stuff across your screen. Rocket League and Move or Die developers teamed up with Adult Swim to bring us free, Rick and Morty themed, content add-ons.
As Adult Swim's Rick and Morty gear up for their third season (out of presumably nine more), the pair is popping up all over the multiverse. After their VR adventure, they are moving on into the world of car soccer and co-op gaming with mechanics that change every 20 seconds.
Let me explain. First off, Rocket League is getting a 2nd anniversary update and guess who is going to tag along for the ride. If you guessed Rick and Morty, a Cromulon, Mr. Meeseeks and Mr. Poopybutthole. Oo-wee, you're right!
The lot will be available for free as Antennas and Toppers. An "Interdimensional GB" Rocket Boost, and some familiar-looking "Sanchez DC-137" Wheels will also make an appearance. Bonus: the "Cromulon" Topper can drop as a Painted item. The new items will be listed as Common drops and they will be available after both offline and online matches.
Please, pay no attention to the fact the wheels on this car are not spinning. Thank you.
Secondly, Those Awesome Guys who developed an indie title known as Move or Die have also been working with Adult Swim and the fruits of their relationship have come in the form of no less than five "kickass" characters from Rick and Morty.
They are proud to present:
- Mr. Meeseeks
- Krombopulous Michael
Those Awesome Guys
Those Awesome Guys want you to know that this content pack is a short and sweet effort that does not replace the content update they're preparing for the game. Similar skins are also coming for the multiplayer party game, Gang Beasts, but those will be available at a later date.
Content packs that include Rick and Morty themed items are free for both Rocket League and Move or Die.
