Another batch of Resident Evil 8 leaks popped up, hinting that Village might indeed be in the title. More importantly, the leak suggests the game was supposed to be launched at the beginning of 2021 but the date might be moved due to Covid-19.
Resident Evil fans are still fresh off the R3make but those looking for the next bit of fun in Capcom's horror survival series now set their sights on Resident Evil 8 which will deal with new content as opposed to remaking the classics.
A known horror game leaker that goes by Dusk Golem, AestheticGamer or simply Ryan has revealed a new batch of information on the upcoming title. He stated that RE8 was meant for a January 2021 launch but there is currently no telling whether the disruption from Covid-19 will cause the developer to move the time table a bit.
In case this happens, Ryan is guessing that the release date would still happen in the early part of 2021 with the possibility of moving the release date up to March.
Those who played Resident Evil 7 should feel right at home with this one as he also noted that the game "plays very similarly to RE7 " but also has "a few enhancements/mechanics added".
On top of that, he noted some of the RE7 characters will return so if you had any favourites who survived the ordeal, there is a good chance you will see them in the next instalment.
The "Village" name has been used a lot when talking about RE8 so it's no surprise that some fans asked whether this would be the official title. Ryan semi-confirmed this, stating that the moniker has been used in test builds and there was a discussion on whether to keep it for the final release .
However, keep in mind that not all test build names make it to retail as Resident Evil 3 also had "Escape" attached to it at some point.
Oh, and it will be cross-gen apparently.
