Developer Sad Cat Studios have detailed more information on expected playtime and technical performance targets for Replaced, building further hype before release.
Despite its gorgeous presentation that could fool you into thinking otherwise, Replaced looks to offer a shorter experience with optional extras instead of padding the story out with an open-world mechanic.
Sad Cat Studios have now detailed both expected playtime, as well as technical targets for when the game releases later this year.
Expected Playtime For Replaced
Director Yura Zhdanovich alongside composer Igor Gritsay stated that they expect players will spend around 8 hours playing through Replaced.
Players who spend more time looking for optional content may find themselves hitting the 11-12 hour mark if they take their time with exploring side content and interacting more with the world.
Side content is optional, so players won’t feel forced to do everything if they don’t want to.
Technical Performance Targets Revealed
On the technical side of things, Sad Cat Studios have detailed their current Xbox performance targets.Currently, they are aiming for:
- Series X: 4K resolution at 60 FPS
- Series S: 1440p resolution at 60 FPS
They did specify that the game is very demanding graphically and optimisation is still being worked on. But providing players with a stable performance target is something they hope to lock down soon.
Game Launching On Xbox First
In another interesting snippet, it was revealed that Replaced will launch on Xbox and Game Pass first. This means there is currently no word on the game launching on PlayStation or any other platform.
Sad Cat Studios said when asked about the decision that “At some point during development, Xbox was just the right choice for this game.” Meaning that there is a possibility they could come to other platforms, but for now, Xbox is the only place we’ll see Replaced.
