Hi-Rez Studios have announced that the next weapon balance and drop patch will go live on 26 June 2018, at 09:30 EDT or 15:30 CEST. Fans seem to be ecstatic for the new changes, following the backlash from disastrous balance update.
Following the giant, but terribly received update on 20 June 2018, Hi-Rez Studios are looking to rectify some of the mistakes they made in the past. The update that should go live in less than 24 hours is looking to rein in the wild RNG element they spawned in the controversial update.
With tomorrow's patch, players will be able to craft specifically their class's legendary at the price of 200 shards and two chicken trophies. Non-class legendaries will cost 120 shards and one chicken trophy while Zeppelin Legendary Chests will have a chance to drop legendary weapons now.
The first two changes are evidently focusing on reducing the impact of RNG in the game as they are no longer chest exclusive. Technically, they didn't simply revert to the previous state of the game where people didn't need to sacrifice goats to the dark RNG gods, as this update is both a compromise and a proper fix to the imbalance that made Hi-Rez relegate legendary weapons to chest drops in the first place.
Players were already suggesting increasing the price of legendary weapons instead of making them RNG based and Hi-Rez have finally decided to listen to them. Considering that crafting a class legendary weapon will now require two chickens, players will no longer be able to simply get legendaries without putting some work into it. They will have to kill other players in order to either craft one or loot it from enemies' corpses.

There is still the possibility of winning the Zeppelin Legendary Chest lottery but the RNG will definitely be toned down into the fun-but-not-overwhelming zone. On top of it, legendary weapons don't drop from standard chests anymore so the game should be in a rather stable state for the moment.
