Most of Sony's first-party exclusives have successful, record-breaking launches and the latest one, which is coming from Insomniac Games, is continuing the tradition. Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is the best selling game in the popular franchise in the United States according to the sales data from the NPD.
In its launch month, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart more than doubled the previous game in the series - Ratchet and Clank from 2016 - in terms of dollar sales. This basically means that Insomniac's gorgeous adventure achieved the highest launch month dollar sales of any title in the history of the franchise.
Furthermore, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart was also the best selling game overall in June 2021. Activision's Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War came second, Mario Golf: Super Rush (digital sales not included) is in third while another Sony first-party game, MLB The Show 21, is fourth.
All in all, June has certainly been a great month for both Insomniac Games and the publisher Sony.
