Quake Champions will be open to anyone interested in some testing, starting this weekend and all the way through the coming week. The 9 days of open beta testing will feature a new game mode and the game's entire content will be made available to players.

Quake Champions has been running a closed beta test over the past few weekends, and this weekend testing is about to become a lot more open. Bethesda will be dropping its NDA for the testing period set to last from the 12th to the 21st of May, so even if you don't feel like participating there should be streams and screenshots aplenty.

Bethesda is calling this a 'large-scale tech test' and everyone who wants a code will get one. During the test, a new game mode called Sacrifice will be added to the game. This is a 4v4 team-based game mode, so it's basically team deathmatch with a fancy name and a max player cap.

Quake Champions is a blend of the multiplayer aspects of the venerable Quake series, infused with elements of  contemporary hero/character based shooters like Overwatch. The games is developed by Id Software and Saber Interactive and will be free-to-play with the now almost standard pay to unlock the rest permanently monetisation plan.
