Sony have finally dropped the announcement for PlayStation 5 Games Showcase, which is officially scheduled for September 9, 2021. The event will include games from both large and small developers and PlayStation Studios.

After a long wait, PlayStation fans are finally getting to see what the future holds for PlayStation Studios. Sony have officially announced their big event for this year called "PlayStation Showcase". The event is scheduled for Thursday, September 9, 2021.

"You’ve been awfully patient, and we thank you for that. And now we’re looking forward to showing you what we’ve been working on," Sony said in the announcement.

PlayStation Showcase start date and time:

  • Thursday, September 9 at 1:00 PM Pacific Time / 9:00pm BST / 10:00pm CEST.

The publisher confirmed that the show will clock in at around 40 minutes and will feature "updates from PlayStation Studios and some of the industry's most imaginative developers." On top of this, Sony also have post-show updates from some of the studio teams featured in the showcase.

Additionally, Sony revealed that PSVR2 won’t make an appearance this time but they promise "plenty of great PS5 games from developers large and small". The show will be live-streamed on PlayStation  YouTube and Twitch .

As for the games that will be on the show, Sony did not say anything, as expected. Our safe bet would be God of War Ragnarok and Gran Turismo 7 but you can also expect to see some third-party exclusives, as well.
