Brass Lion Entertainment was founded in the beginning of November by Manveer Heir, Rashad Redic and Bryna Dabby Smith, whom you practically know if you've played Bioware's Mass Effect, Bethesda's Skyrim or Square Enix's Sleeping Dogs.

"Brass Lion is focused on creating original fictional universes that center on Black and Brown characters, cultures, and stories, something we feel is sorely lacking right now", Heir wrote in a post.

He highlighted the fact that between them, the team worked on Fallout 3, Mass Effect 3, Skyrim and Sleeping Dogs - neither of which need an introduction to any gaming enthusiast.

As for their first game and universe, it's called Corner Wolves and follows a female, Afro-Latin protagonist called Jacinte, as she tries to untangle the mystery behind her father's murder.

"Corner Wolves tells the stories of young people growing up in the hood, and how their lives are shaped and defined by the war on drugs, as they are caught between dope dealers, hustlers, and overzealous police", Brass Lion wrote in the description. Unfortunately,

The team's narrative ranks were bolstered with Evan Narcisse, whom you may know from Marvel's Rise of the Black Panther, while the audio work will be handled by popular Grammy-winning producer Just Blaze. Heir mentioned that the fact they both grew up in New York played a big role in bringing them in, as Brass Lion's team is aiming for a truly authentic depiction and experience of Harlem.

Interestingly, Heir is planning for Corner Wolves to become much more than a game, as Brass Lion intends to pursue other media as well. "We began the Corner Wolves project as an interactive project, but it quickly it became apparent that the universe we were creating had legs outside of interactive also, and so we are going to be bringing the universe to multiple media, both linear and interactive", they wrote.
