Amazon broke a few things with the latest New World update but also fixed a ton of others and introduced quality of life improvements, like increased Faction token caps.
New World is having some growing pains but Amazon devs are trying to fix the most important issues with each update. One major complaint was the Faction token cap that often prevented players from saving up enough in order to get the associated gear when they would rank up with their organisation.
As of patch 1.0.4, Faction token caps at all ranks have been increased by 50 per cent, in the following manner:
- Tier 1: cap used to be 5,000 tokens, increased to 7,500
- Tier 2: cap used to be 10,000 tokens, increased to 15,000
- Tier 3: cap used to be 15,000 tokens, increased to 22,500
- Tier 4: cap used to be 25,000 tokens, increased to 37,500
- Tier 5: cap used to be 50,000 tokens, increased to 75,000
While this is certainly handy for saving up tokens for the next tier of gear, keep in mind that you can also purchase it even before you reach the associated level. For example, you can buy level 50 gear even when you are level 45, provided you reached the necessary Faction rank.
If you are wondering why you might want to spend tokens on Faction gear, the Resilient perk on the armour pieces is still bugged, offering reduction against all damage, in all game modes, even if it wasn't from a critical hit.
This makes Faction armour some of the best in the game, which is quite helpful as soon as you reach level 60.
