Amazon's upcoming MMO New World will launch roughly a month from now but the game will be available for everyone to try out before committing to paying the price of admission.
New World saw some major success with the closed beta event that happened not too long ago - the game flew close to the top of Steam's ladder for the most played games even though it was only a beta test that you couldn't enter without paying.
This record will undoubtedly be broken when New World's open beta rolls out on September 9, 2021. It will last for the weekend and wrap up on September 12, giving the players three days worth of time to familiarise themselves with the game, its systems and possibly to decide whether to buy the full product or not, when it launches on September 28, 2021.
Keep in mind that the trailer below may look like something out of a game rich with story that's hardly what New World is. Amazon's MMO was heavy on PvP initially and PvE elements were only enriched after some serious work following the feedback from the testers. Even then, the story in the game was minimalistic and the quests seem to be the run of the mill MMO chores such as killing a number of creatures or fetching something.
