Amazon Game Studios revealed their efforts against the exploiters in New World yielded pretty good results as they should put an end to economy damage due to duping.

New World has suffered from various duping glitches since the start of the game. Players would persistently find ways to duplicate items or gold, which eventually resulted in the devs shutting down wealth transfer temporarily in order to prevent the spread of illegally obtained goods.

The same thing happened on November 15, 2021, when the trading was once again disabled and this time it was caused by another batch of bad actors duplicating house trophies, which are quite valuable, especially when upgraded.

Soon after, the devs posted on the forums , informing the players of their efforts, noting that 1,200 players had been banned in the first wave when they duplicated coin. This resulted in the removal of about 80 per cent of illegally obtained wealth but it was not the end.

The trophy duplication seems to have been done on a much smaller scale but AGS found them and banned everyone involved, on top of a group of players who evaded the first ban wave, resulting in the termination of 460 additional accounts, meaning the sum total at this point was 1,660. Overall, the bans, as well as removed coin and items, dealt with 98 per cent of duped goods.

According to the post, the remaining two per cent are in possession of the players who accidentally stumbled on the duping glitches but did not abuse them. As a result, these players will not be banned.
