Manticore Games has launched Out of Time, a 3D multiplayer roguelike that blends MMO, action RPG, and co-op elements into what the developer calls "endless adventures." Available today for $24.99 on Epic Games Store, the game throws players into a world where all timelines have collided following an event called "The Shattering."
Infinite Gear Possibilities
Players operate from Infinitopia, humanity's last refuge, choosing from up to 190 million different gear combinations before venturing into corrupted regions. This massive customisation system enables wildly diverse encounters, from medieval wizards battling cyborgs in the Wastelands to medics and shapeshifters taking down mutated creatures in modern settings.
The game supports solo play or online co-op with up to four players. Grouping unlocks a unique tethering system that shares powerful force multipliers across the squad, becoming essential for tackling higher difficulty settings from Normal to Hard to Shattering.
Cross-Genre Innovation
Chief Creative Officer Jordan Maynard emphasised the game's genre-blending approach: "Out of Time has come from a place of passion from our team, taking the best parts of different genres such as MMOs, roguelikes, co-op games and action RPGs, to create a wholly original experience."
The title launches with three major regions - Medieval, Modern, and Wasteland Eras - with the Solarpunk Era arriving free this November, adding new gear, enemies, and bosses.
Expansion Plans
Built using Manticore's Core platform and Unreal Engine 5, Out of Time is designed for rapid content expansion. CEO Frederic Descamps confirmed plans for Steam and console releases in 2026, plus new modes including PvP and MOBA-inspired gameplay.
The game's infinite expandability promise includes regular era additions, new modes, and leaderboards, positioning it as a long-term service rather than a traditional single-purchase title.
