Royal Never Give Up (RNG) had a rather disappointing run at League of Legends World Championship 2019 and it seems like they are rebuilding the team's core by signing Griffin players if the rumours turn out to be true.

RNG dropped out in group stage at World Championship 2019 which was largely seen as a disappointing result for the team. In their defence, they were placed in the group of death with SKT T1 and Fnatic but the fans were still left with a sour feeling following the event.

If the transfer rumours are to be trusted, the team might follow in the last two world champions' footsteps by switching to the format of having three Chinese and two Korean players in the starting lineup.

Fans on Weibo, the Chinese equivalent of Twitter, are speculating that Chovy and Tarzan are about to join the team. While their team, Griffin, made it out of groups and had a decent run at Worlds, the team certainly had the potential to go further. Considering the atmosphere in the team after of the team manager, it is not hard to imagine that the talented players may be looking for a better environment.

Given the popularity of RNG, this could be a perfect landing zone for them. The players are 19 and 20 years old, with careers ahead of them. Based on the fan reactions following the group stage at Worlds, it would be safe to say Xiaohu is not among the popular names in the team. Meanwhile, Chovy displayed exceptional skill when given the chance to carry at Worlds and it was only after four consecutive games of midlane tanks that his team dropped out.

As for Tarzan, he would also be an obvious pick for RNG. Karsa's contract has expired and there are currently no news about potentially extending the deal. In case of Tarzan switching to RNG, Griffin would still have an alternative in Kanavi who recently returned from the loan to JD Gaming.
