Wukong's recent rework caused a spike in both popularity and win rate which resulted in many players being very unsatisfied with his current state in the game, claiming that he's almost impossible to counter.
Wukong has been one of the strongest champions in the game since his recent mini-rework in patch 10.6. He is currently holding the highest win rate percentage for top lane, and the third-highest for the jungle position so it's safe to say that he's a bit overpowered at the moment.
Many players have voiced their opinions about the "new" Monkey King on reddit but a specific post pointed out what might be the best solution to this problem as it gathered more than three thousand upvotes.
According to this thread, the best way to fix the problem is to simply remove the second knock-up on Wukong's ultimate ability - Cyclone. Compared to the old one, the new ultimate has no AD scaling as it scales of maximum health, and while it has a shorter duration, it can be activated twice.
The thread continues by saying that the core problem of the reworked Wukong lies in the short cooldowns on his other abilities. He has the ability to dish out damage through his first rotation of basic abilities, then use his ultimate to lock down the opponents while he waits on his cooldowns to end.
This leaves almost no counterplay options since if you don't have an escape tool built inside your kit, it's almost impossible to escape from his combos. Also, he has incredible sustain while fighting, thanks to his passive, the item Death's Dance and the rune Conqueror.
Further on the post claims that this adjustment would add more skill and fun to Wukong's playstyle. You'd be forced to at least second guess your choice to dive deep into the enemy team since they would have more time to counter your initiation.
It should be noted that the Riot have already tried to balance Wukong through numerous nerfs but changing his ultimate could indeed be the final nail in the coffin.
