League of Legends Patch 26.3 preview breaks down all confirmed champion buffs, nerfs, adjustments, and system changes expected to impact the meta in early February 2026.

League of Legends Patch 26.3 looks like it will be a rather significant balance patch. Based on the champions and systems on the pipelines list, Riot Games is gearing up to roll out a bevy of changes that should dramatically alter the current meta-game.

If trends hold true, players can expect patch 26.3 to impact ranked queues, pro-play, and overall champion potency throughout Summoner’s Rift come early February 2026.

As several failing champions are queued up for buffs and overtuned picks selected in nearly every game are looking at nerfs, Patch 26.3 should help to encourage role diversity while reigning in some outliers.

On top of champion balancing, there are a handful of fundamental systems related to game objectives, mobility, and itemisation being adjusted that may affect the game in less direct ways.

Champion Buffs in Patch 26.3

For this patch, Riot is buffing most of these champions who have been lackluster in recent metas. This should, ideally, help them have better lane presence/scaling/reliability.

These champions include Ahri, Bel’Veth, Briar, Draven, Ezreal, Hecarim, Heimerdinger, Blue Kayn, Maokai, Naafiri, Nunu, Skarner, Trundle, Tryndamere, Vi, Xin Zhao, Yone, and Zaahen.

Champion Nerfs Targeting Overperformers

This category includes some incredibly strong champions who have been causing quite a bit of stress in both solo queue and comp. We’ll likely see some sharp drops in win rate for these champions as they get dumpstered less. This category includes: Braum, Diana, Ekko, Nilah, Riven, Ryze, Varus (TOP/BOT), Volibear, and Zed.

Adjustments and System Changes

Jayce and Mel will be receiving some selective adjustments. This typically means some numbers tweaking but nothing too crazy. We can expect some ability interaction and/or gameplay clarity changes for them.

Systems Buff

Only one system is being buffed this patch and that’s Actualizer.

Systems Nerfs

Cash Back, Phase Rush, Tier 3 Defensive Boots, and Triple Tonic are all getting nerfed.

Objective and Vision Updates

Riot is also making some changes to objectives and vision. These changes will have longer term impacts on the game than the traditional buffs/nerfs.

It looks like Patch 26.3 is fairly light on overhauls and focused more on balance changes. We can probably expect some shakeups to the current meta but nothing too wild.
