Top lane players have been complaining for years about the usefulness, or lack thereof, of their lane. The newest top lane meta, which is anything but top lane, seems to confirm this, and Riot are nerfing it into the ground, as they should.

While Riot Games value creativity in League of Legends, there is a distinction between creative picks in the game, and abusing in-game systems in a way that was unaccounted for. This is the case with the current, enchanter top lane meta, and its abuse of the champion bounty system.

Aside from perma ganking enemies to their team ahead, this strategy uses the bounty system, which is based on the cs difference, to farm the enemy top lane for their bounty, purely because the enchanter top laner has no cs, and is using the support item to offset this.

Now, Riot are implementing a new way of calculating champion bounties. Instead of assuming that there is only one support item per team in any given match, their bounties will take into account the gold made with the support item, and compare that to the income the "normal" top laner gets from csing.

Furthermore, if you have two, or more, support items on your team, you will now be far less likely to get objective bounties when behind, to make sure there is no abusing the system in such a way.

It would appear that Riot are taking this new meta seriously, and are considering the best approaches in making it impossible to work. There is a good reason for that, however, as the usual top lane champions, their kits, and all the balance changes are made obsolete with this strategy of just avoiding the top lane altogether, while also abusing it for additional gold.
