League of Legends Preseason 2022 will arrive in a couple of months and as per usual, players will face some heavier adjustments, at least compared to the games' regular patches.
League of Legends 2021 preseason has brought one of the biggest changes the game has seen so far - a complete item overhaul. This had a huge impact on the game's meta state and it took a couple of months for the dust the settle.
While the overhaul was successful to a certain degree, it's quite expected that certain items become a failure, not because they are too weak or too strong, but simply because the gameplay designers can't find the right balance.
While two or three champions can exceed with a certain item, the majority of the same champion class won't even consider building it. There are also a couple of champions who don't really have an item that fits their unique playstyle. The best example is probably Singed who doesn't have a decent Mythic item choice and players usually have to choose between Turbo Chemtank and Riftmaker.
While those items can do the job, there is still a feeling that they don't fit a certain playstyle. A recent post on the League of Legends subreddit apparently reveals an upcoming item called Fimbulwinter and these are its following stats:
- +10 Ability Haste
- +350 HP
- +1200 Mana
- Passive - Awe: Grants Ability Haste equal to 1 per cent maximum mana. Refunds 15 per cent of mana spent
- Passive - Frozen Colossus: Immobilizing an enemy champion consumes manaand grants a shield for three seconds, absorbing 150 (+5 per cent current mana) damage for every nearby enemy champion. This effect only activates while you have greater than 20 per cent maximum mana.
It should be noted that those items are already present on Wild Rift and will most likely get introduced to League of Legends. This means that even if those items make it to the Summoner's Rift, there could still be some additional balance changes.
