Riot Games unveiled the first looks and insights regarding League of Legends' shop rework that will hit the live servers during the pre-season in 2021.
League of Legends has already had some work done on the shop in the past and while some of us old people still remember the one from 2010 fondly, newer players likely don't know what it was like and would likely prefer for it to never return due to the upgrades in the newer shop interface that they grew used to.
It will likely be similar when the new shop rework hits us in 2021 pre-season as there will be improvements for both novices and hardcore players. The newcomers will, for example, get better recommendations as the team will work to keep them up to date for all champions. Recommendations will be based on choices made by highly skilled players.
Furthermore, the new interface will filter out items based on the time in a match in order to provide some of the best recommendations at any given time. It doesn't really make much sense to build Infinity Edge as the first item on Kai'Sa, so it's likely the shop will first recommend Guinsoo's Rageblade.
That said, the shop will not offer linear paths and players will still have their own choices when building their items.
More experienced players will get a better overview on the tab that shows all the items in the game. Item search will get a bigger query box players will be able to sort them by tiers for easier browsing. You can check out the full details on the official dev corner post .
