The latest patch for Cyberpunk 2077 has made Mr Takemura go silent. Luckily, there's a workaround.

The latest Cyberpunk 2077 patch has solved many issues but, unfortunately, it also has added a game-breaking bug which affects gamers on all platforms, but here's a temporary solution provided by CDPR themselves.

The first major patch planned to release in 2021 is here and it was met with a mixed response, and the reason for this is not just the fact that the patch is more like a foundation for the next update (1.2), but the game-breaking bug that came with it.

There is no doubt that CD Projekt are committed to fixing their game in the best possible way, and that they will eventually succeed, but patch 1.1 caused more headaches than it brought smiles to the faces of gamers.

The so-called Takemura call bug is a bug that is difficult to avoid because it directly affects the progress in the main story, and cannot be bypassed as is the case with side-missions or gigs.

The problematic mission is called "Down on the Street" and after V receives a call from Takemura, nothing happens, ie Takemura is silent. Since the reloading the mission doesn't work either, a temporary solution from CDPR themselves was provided online for all gamers affected by this unfortunate bug, and here's what to do if you're one of them.

For a potential workaround follow the steps below (note, an earlier gamesave is required):

  1. Load a gamesave before Takemura and V leave Wakako's office.
  2. Finish the conversation with Takemura outside the office right away
  3. Right after the finished conversation and when the quest was updated, skip 23h.
  4. See if the holocall triggers and the dialogue with Takemura starts
