Halo Infinite has been talked about quite a bit these days, although mostly for the wrong reasons, but 343 Industries definitely followed it up with some splendid news.
Okay, the "wrong reasons" may not be entirely accurate, seeing as how Halo Infinite was expected to showcase the absolute best Xbox Series X has to offer. We don't necessarily share all the opinions of the anti-Xbox bandwagon, but we definitely get it.
Anyways, the free multiplayer thing was rumoured a bit earlier but now we've got confirmation straight from the horse's mouth.
"Halo is for everyone. We can confirm Halo Infinite multiplayer will be free-to-play and will support 120FPS on Xbox Series X. More details will be shared later", the studio tweeted recently.
This is pretty great news for Halo fans who are strapped for cash, or simply those who are solely interested in the multiplayer component of Halo.
There have been some rumours about a possible battle royale version as well, courtesy of the Japanese Halo page, but that has not yet been confirmed. For what it's worth, the most vocal fans are ardently against the idea, and you can usually find them quoting the phrase, "The only BR in Halo is the Battle Rifle."
Either way, we're sure fans won't mind, and it definitely shouldn't hurt the sales much. In fact, if you take a look at Activision, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone seem to be doing more than fine.
343 Industries also acknowledged the criticism of Halo Infinite's graphics, insisting that the art style is just fine, but that they are working on many of the complaints related to actual fidelity.
