Even though seven years old now, Warhammer 40K: Space Marine is one of the best games in the Warhammer 40K franchise and is free on Humble so if you've any love for the Emperor, you owe it to yourself to try it, if you haven't already.
A quick check on Steam will quickly confirm my musings here, as Warhammer 40K: Space Marine's reviews are currently at Very Positive. Not to mention that you'll be saving yourself a 20, in whatever currency you normally pay, so there's nothing to lose except some hard disk space.
As far as shooters go, Space Marine is hands down the best gun-wielding experience Warhammer 40K gaming franchise has to offer. There's also the hack 'n slash element, in case if you prefer to handle them Orks the old fashioned way. All in all, get ready for an uninhibited Space Marine experience, which translates to pure carnage and then some.
That being said, don't expect miracles in terms of graphics because Warhammer 40K: Space Marine is a seven year old game after all. That's not to say it's bad - I personally couldn't care less about eye candy when not reviewing games, as long as other gaming elements come together properly. And in this game by Relic and THQ, they most certainly did.
Speaking of THQ, this is not THQ Nordic we hear about so often these days, but the original THQ that brought us Red Faction and Saints Row, to name but a few. Unfortunately for the company and the game itself, Warhammer 40K: Space Marine launched at their zenith, which left the game's storyline cliffhanger hang in the air still.
Needless to say, we're still hoping for a proper sequel, but in the absence of a sequel - a Space Marine reminder will do. And what a reminder it is. Do note however that I'm a fan and that the picture I'm painting here is probably a tad biased. Just a tad. Aw c'mon, the game is free, shut up.

So, you can hop over to and pick up your Steam redeem code in exchange for Humble's newsletter, which is a fair trade-off, not least for future notifications on good deals and free games you can get your mitts on.
