Fatshark's co-op grim shooter Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, which was supposed to launch as an Xbox and PC exclusive later this year, has officially been delayed. Martin Wahlund, the CEO and Co-Founder of Fatshark shared a short announcement via the game's official social media channels, confirming that the new release date is set for Spring 2022.
Here is the official announcement from Fatshark CEO:
"Today, we made the difficult decision to move our release date of Warhammer 40,000: Darktide to the Spring of 2022.
We have a responsibility to deliver the best game we possibly can, and frankly, we need more time to accomplish this goal. It's no secret that building a game during a pandemic is a challenge and we are not immune to this.
We are planning to use the extra time to both focus on the level of quality at release, as well as invest in more systems to support Darktide for years to come."
Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is set to launch on PC, Xbox Series X and Series S. The PlayStation 5 version of the game is yet to be announced but it's expected to follow a couple of months after the initial release on Xbox consoles and PC.
