Gas Guzzlers Extreme has been released almost a decade ago and now it's suddenly getting physical editions on several console models.
Gas Guzzlers Extreme is a rather fun game but it does have some glaring drawbacks. That said, the game has managed to attain a status akin to a cult classic, possibly because of the developers' light attitude mixed with gritty action racing. As such, we have no doubts there are people who are willing to pay for this title all these years later but it is still a bit weird to hear that Gas Guzzlers Extreme is getting new editions on more than one platform.
PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch are both getting their physical editions at some point during November 2021 while PlayStation 5 will get it in 2022. Considering there is a different release date for the newer console, it's highly possible the devs are working on providing more eye candy on the more powerful hardware. That said, there are no announcements about any upgrades on PC yet.
For those not familiar with the game, Gas Guzzlers Extreme is the closest thing to a bastard child conceived by Twisted Metal and Mario Kart. It borrows the former's rusty and less vibrant tone but in the end, winning the race is just as important as introducing the opponents to your .50 cal.
