EA Sports' FIFA 20 is still number one on UK physical sales charts for the week ending on 05 October 2019. Ubisoft's Ghost Recon: Breakpoint managed to climb to second in its launch week.
EA's football simulation FIFA 20 is expectedly dominating UK physical sales charts since its release on 24 September 2019. FIFA 20 is holding the top spot for the second week despite a decline in sales of 66 per cent week-on-week.
However, even with these numbers, EA Sports' title is still miles ahead of its competitors in terms of physical sales. The closest title is Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Breakpoint, sitting comfortably in the second spot on the charts. Ubisoft's tactical shooter performed well, despite the microtransactions controversy, which kicked off recently. This is Ghost Recon: Breakpoint's first week so it will be interesting to see how the game holds up on the chart in the upcoming weeks.
Borderlands 3 remained in the third place, despite a decline in week-on-week sales of 43 per cent. Microsoft's Gears 5 is still enjoying strong sales in its third week in fourth with a tiny decline of 1 per cent.
The rest of the list looks almost identical to the last week's chart with only one new entry - Ghostbusters: Remastered. Microsoft's titles (Sea of Thieves, Forza Horizon 3) are still going strong and hold eight, and tenth place on the list, despite being a bit older titles.
Minecraft is also an interesting one and as you can see, its sales are recorded differently for each platform. If the sales for PS4, Xbox One and Switch were combined, the game would be in the third place, but this way, it only managed No.9.
Keep in mind that the charts only include boxed sales and not digital, which can be a bit misleading since most of the game purchases in 2019 are made digitally. Here is the full chart of UKIE/GfK Top Ten for the week ending 05 October 2019:
