FIFA 19 took the first spot

Sony have shared the list of most downloaded PlayStation 4 games in 2018. EA's FIFA 19 took the first spot in front of Treyarch's Call of Duty Black Ops 4 while Beat Saber was the best selling VR game beating Job Simulator to first place.

Even though there were many big releases on PlayStation 4 in the past year, the latest FIFA game still took the first spot on the list of most downloaded games on PS4 in 2018. EA's football simulation had a higher number of downloads than Call of Duty Black Ops 4 and Red Dead Redemption 2, which grabbed in second and third place respectivelly.

The top five has another Rockstar hit - Grand Theft Auto V and for a game that released way back in 2013, that's a pretty impressive result. GTA V beat SIE Santa Monica's God of War which was the fifth most downloaded.

The rest of the top ten is made of Marvel's Spiderman, FIFA 18, multiplayer beat 'em up Gang Beasts, Rocket League and Ubisoft's fifth instalment in the Far Cry series.

Another title from EA starts the second part of the list, Battlefield 1 is eleventh just in front of Horizon Zero Dawn and Minecraft. The rest of top 20 most downloaded games in 2018 list include Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, Battlefield V, Monster Hunter: World, Need for Speed Payback, Gran Turismo Sport, A Way Out and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

Of course, this list doesn't represent sale numbers as many of these games were part of the PlayStation Plus offer. Sony also didn't clarify if trials and demo downloads are included in the list.

As for the VR titles, Beat Saber secured the end of the year top spot as the most downloaded VR title with Job Simulator, Superhot VR, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR and Batman: Arkham VR completing the top 5 list.

Even though Fortnite wasn't featured in among the 20 most downloaded games, their DLCs secured an incredible eight spots in the DLC top 20 of the year list. Fortnite Battle Royale Starter Pack, The Ace Pack, Wingman Starter Pack are just some of the downloadable contents that dominated the list.

In a sea of Fortnite DLCs, Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds and Call of Duty: WWII The Resistance: DLC Pack 1 sneaked into top 10 along with Marvel’s Spider-Man The City that Never Sleeps.
