Riot Games are updating Fiddlesticks visually and gameplay-wise in League of Legends patch 10.7 and that means some changes in the scarecrow's mechanics. Highlight among them is probably the removal of the hard-to-track crow that silences its opponents.

Fiddlesticks' visual update certainly brings that terror part of the creature's mythos forth but it is the gameplay bit that we will talk about. All of the champion's abilities have been altered but the core still remains.

A Harmless Scarecrow is the new passive and it will replace Fiddlesticks' trinket with Effigies that look exactly like it. They serve as wards and their cooldown as well as the duration will be improved as the champion levels. At level six they gain the ability to spot nearby wards.

Terrify (Q) is the iconic fear-inducing ability and it will remain but will be somewhat altered. It will now passively cause Fear to any enemy that was damaged by a surprise Fiddle. That means only if they didn't spot the scarecrow. The active part can Fear an enemy regardless of whether they saw you coming but they can't be Feared if they were recently hit with that particular crowd control. In that case, the target will take increased magic damage.

Bountiful Harvest (W) will retain some of the old Drain's aspects. Fiddle will still slurp targeted enemies but it now tethers to all nearby opponents, minions or monsters. Damage ticks will happen over two seconds and the last tick has an execute component that might be the tanks' nightmare. In case the channel is not interrupted by the end of its duration or by the time Fiddlesticks runs out of targets, 60 per cent of the cooldown will be refunded.

Reap (E) is now an ability with a smaller range. Fiddle can still silence enemies but it will happen in the centre of a crescent skill shot, rather than bouncing between the enemies like the old Dark Wind. All enemies hit will be damaged and those not silenced will be slowed instead.

Crowstorm (R) on PBE behaved exactly like the one on live servers at the time of writing. The numbers may be subject to change by the time reworked Fiddlesticks makes it to live servers but expect it to be largely the same ability, with terrifying new sound and visual effects.
