Expeditions: Rome has received a DLC that allows players to fulfill their gladiator fantasies, one turn at a time.
Expeditions: Rome got many things right when it comes to historical accuracy, especially when you consider you are inserted with a fictional character right into the eye of the storm filled with critical, and well-known moments, for the Roman Empire. One thing that was missing, however, were actual gladiator battles, despite these individuals being featured heavily throughout the campaign.
On April 12, 2022, that little dip has been corrected as Expeditions: Rome got the Death or Glory DLC which adds precisely that part of the Roman history.
Death or Glory lets players engage in gladiatorial battles throughout arenas set in the different regions that we visit during the campaign. The DLC is integrated into the main story and you can enter it seamlessly by progressing the Acts.
If you are itching to get into the arena as soon as possible, you can choose the Gladiator Mode from the main menu, which will let you experience the new content while foregoing the campaign.
Furthermore, players get access to the new Gladiator class which comes with 24 skills of its own. With the new class in mind, existing players might find it awkward that Bestia and Deianera are Veles and Princeps, respectively, given their background. Similarly, it will be weird if they suddenly get a class change.
In any case, the game is getting enriched with more content and the DLC is discounted by 20 per cent until April 19, 2022.
