Bethesda is giving PC and Mac players a chance to play the Morrowind expansion for Elder Scrolls Online two weeks before it launches. Anyone who buys the expansion will be able to access the live servers early, starting on 22 May 2017.
Elder Scrolls Online's Morrowind expansion will soon enter early access on PC and Mac. It will not be available to everyone though. Bethesda will give a chance to PC and Mac players of their Elder Scrolls Online to get an early access peek at the upcoming expansion.
Here's the deal. If you are an existing player on either platform you can purchase the digital or the collector's version of Morrowind and get a two week head start on the new content. The early access will start on 22 May, and launch for everyone on 06 June.
The early access deal is not going to be limited to a certain part of the expansion, or a preview after which all your progress will be reset as soon as the actual release date rolls around. All players will join the game's live servers, and all their progress will wait for them after 06 June.
You'll enter this early access by purchasing the digital upgrade or digital collector's edition before launch. If you have set your sights on the physical version of the collector's edition you're going to have one loop to jump through. In order to gain access, you'll have to contact the game's team.
This is not a beta per se, but Bethesda said that the early access will "allow for final gameplay tuning and polishing before the game launches."
Morrowind will bring The Warden - a new playable class to the game. The expansion will also have a new storyline and a PvP mode. The island of Vvardenfell from The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind will also make an appearance.
