Following the huge news that Microsoft have officially acquired Bethesda and all its IPs, the company also confirmed that all future games from Bethesda studios will arrive to Game Pass on day one.
Earlier today, Microsoft and Bethesda have shocked the gaming industry with a huge announcement. Microsoft have acquired Bethesda's parent company Zenimax and all their IPs for more than $7 billion.
This, of course, means a lot of things but for gamers, the most important detail is that all future Bethesda games will be coming to Game Pass on day one. Yes, you read that right, games from franchises such as The Elder Scrolls, Starfield, Doom, Fallout, Dishonored and many others will be available on Microsoft's subscription service, which is already one of the best deals in gaming.
As for some of the games that are already announced as PlayStation 5 timed exclusives like Ghostwire: Tokyo and Deathloop, these will remain timed exclusives since the deal will not affect these games. However, future titles, such as Starfield and Elder Scrolls VI will be on Game Pass day one.
This announcement is certainly great news for all fans of Bethesda games and Xbox Game Pass subscribers who will get to play these blockbuster titles on launch day. And while PC and Xbox players can enjoy these titles on Game Pass for a monthly subscription fee, PlayStation players will probably have to pay the full, $70 price, if these future titles continue releasing on PlayStation.
It's an interesting situation, to say the least, but there's no doubt today's announcement has evened the odds in the next-gen war.
