Knockout CIty is coming to a ton of different platforms and they will all be able to play together from day one apparently.
EA revealed that Knockout City is coming to PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch on May 21, 2021. On top of that, the game will release on Steam and Origin on PC and all these platforms that were listed will be able to play together at launch. On top of even that, cross-progression will be a thing so it doesn't matter on how many platforms you play it.
As for the game itself, it is an extreme version of dodgeball where we get to pull out flashy super moves and pretty much physically assault each other with them.
There will be several modes to choose from, including 3v3, 4v4 and free for all quick matches in the Street Play as well as ranked games in League Play. If you're looking for a few rounds with friends, there are Private Matches.
According to the announcement, the game will rely on player skill to dominate the competition so there shouldn't be any progression-related loot boxes or pay to win things along those lines. When it comes to the skilful play, Knockout City is described as easy to pick up but hard to master.
The game will cost $19.99 and will most likely have microtransactions as the trailer has a segment dedicated to the cosmetics.
