Battlefield V Firestorm now offers Duos mode, which will be available for a limited time only - until Monday, 15 April 2019. After that, Dice and EA will take a look at the feedback and tweak the mode before the final introduction.

EA and Dice have introduced the first addition to Battlefield V battle royale game mode Firestorm in the latest update. The addition is Duos mode, which as the name suggests, allows you to conquer the battle royale arena with another person.

Duos joins Solo and Squad modes that were available in Battlefield V Firestorm since the launch. It will run only until 15 April 2019 though, after that, Dice will take a look at the players' feedback and their own data and come back and share their learnings with the players.

By the looks of it, Duos is still in the test phase and it may take a while before it's final release. Dice said in their announcement that they like how the mode works at the moment and it's a great addition to the game but they recognize it's best to tweak it a bit with the help of players to make it a strong addition to Firestorm.

All in all, many players will certainly appreciate the new addition, especially those enjoy the mode more than Solos and Squads. The only drawback is that Dice will remove it in three days, but hopefully, the whole tweaking and balancing process goes smoothly and Duos gets re-introduced soon after that.

In other Battlefield V news, EA recently introduced microtransactions to the game. You can now buy Battlefield's premium currency creatively named Battlefield Currency, which can be spent on cosmetic items such as weapon skins, clothing items and war paints. You can also use the currency to speed up your progression with XP boosters and Tier catch-ups.

Later in Chapter 3, EA will also add Elite Sets, which let you play as a distinct soldier in multiplayer and Firestorm. Elites will have unique names, look and background with special animations, voice-overs and cosmetics. However, EA say Elites play like other soldiers and won't grant any type of advantage on the battlefield.
