Capcom seems to have been taking notes from Cloud Imperium Games' playbook as they have decided to sell items at ludicrous prices as well. There will be three limited editions for Devil May Cry 5, priced at $5.324, $6.655 and $7.986.
Capcom seem to have priced these editions according to the popularity of each characters they were based on. The cheapest edition ($5.324) will be themed around the newcomer, V, which will include his sleeveless trench coat. Then, there is the edition based on Nero that will be priced a bit higher, at $6.665, along with his iconic blue coat, that can have a ripped or pristine sleeve, based on customer choice.
As you probably guessed by now, the most expensive edition will be based on Dante and will include his red trench coat that has been iconic ever since the first title in Devil May Cry series. This edition will set enthusiasts back $7.986. Thankfully, Capcom showed more sense than Bethesda, so these overpriced editions include a version of the base game, unlike Fallout 76 Platinum Prima Guide .
The official website specifically states that each costume includes only the top, so no boots or trousers will be included. Potential buyers will be able to order a costume in their size, so at least the clothing will fit. On the other hand, one could literally get a tailor to produce a replica for a fraction of what Capcom is charging.
With that in mind, it's hard to imagine any future Devil May Cry 5 cossplayers will be wearing $8.000 trench coats, but then again, people didn't mind paying Cloud Imperium Games $27.000 for a fleet of virtual spaceships in Star Citizen.
Bear in mind that the prices in USD were converted from Japanese Yen at the time of writing, so the exchange rate might shift when you are reading this. In order to find the exact price at any given time, you can convert the price of Dante's, Nero's or V's trench coats on Google converter .
