Chrono Cross is rumoured to be getting a remake

Mutan Insight have several open positions for a major RPG remake project that is being developed for the PlayStation 5 platform.

Recently, we got some juicy rumours that PS1 RPG Chrono Cross could be getting a remake in the near future for PlayStation and other platforms. Recently, Redditors have discovered that Another Eden could be getting a crossover event with Chrono Cross soon, which fueled the speculation about a remake even further.

Today, we have a couple of potential new pieces of information about the Chrono Cross remake. Mutan Insight, the developer who previously worked on Final Fantasy content and Atelier Series, have posted several job listings, which state that they are hiring for work on a "high-end RPG (remake/title private) for PlayStation 5". Job listings also reveal that the game is being developed in Unreal Engine 5.

As expected, the job listing does not include the name of the project and there is no really any indication that this could be a Chrono Cross remake, though, it is an odd coincidence that we find out about a remake from Mutan Insight only several weeks after the first rumours about Chrono Cross project surfaced.

It's certainly possible that this is just a coincidence but something tells us we will be hearing more about the Chrono Cross remake very soon and Mutan Insight are very likely to be behind this one.

Until we get an official confirmation, though, take everything with a grain of salt.

Thanks, Gematsu.
