We still have some time until Arkane Studios and Bethesda unleash Deathloop, their temporally-challenged action title, and the studio posted a great trailer to get you up to speed.

The trailer is presented by Deathloop director Dinga Bakaba, and he actually did a great job in keeping it fun, relevant but still loaded with valuable info.

Arkane and Bethssda's official announcement of Deathloop was quite a high-profile one, so most players should know a thing or two about the time-bending adventure.

Just in case you don't, though, here's a quick recap - Deathloop puts players in the shoes of Colt, an assassin stuck in a recurrent time loop that can only be broken if he terminates eight targets before midnight. Neither of them will go down easy, and it's either all eight or back to the same day.

That said, this "same day" is never really the same in Deathloop, not when you learn how to spin your unwavering memory in your favour. Arcane had mentioned that observant players will be rewarded for patience and/or eloquence, and Blackreef's population is small enough that one good gossip today could be gold tomorrow.

Deathloop is set in one point in time, which ultimately forced some game design decisions. The dev counteracted the narrow scope with depth, and players will be given ample reasons why to go explore and socialise, and perhaps eavesdrop a bit later on.

Along the way, Deathloop players will be learning more about Blackreef's past, and the eight inhabitants he somehow must defeat in an incredibly short amount of time. Well, technically you've got all the time in the world, but we're fairly certain that soggy beach awakenings aren't exactly Colt's idea of eternal bliss.
