CD Projekt Red's financial conference call was hosted today, and the company shared a lot of new details about Cyberpunk 2077. The game is set for CD Projekt Red's biggest E3 showcase ever and it's in the advanced development stage.
Cyberpunk 2077, the upcoming RPG shooter from beloved Polish developer CD Projekt Red is set for its biggest E3 showcase yet. During the company's finance call, CD Projekt Red President Adam Kicinski said that this year's E3 Expo will be the most important ever for the studio.
According to Kicinski, the studio prepared a strong keynote and fully expects to beat the last year's show when Cyberpunk 2077's first trailer was revealed on Xbox's stage.
Kicinski continued by saying that CD Projekt Red are incredibly excited by the positive response from players and that their reaction met the developer's expectations.
As for the development phase of Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt Red's President said that the upcoming title is in a quite advanced development phase. Kicinski said that plans for cross-generation releases already exist and that their RED Engine is built from scratch for potential ports.
CD Projekt Red will soon start with a huge marketing campaign for Cyberpunk 2077 in both Europe and North America. Since the reveal at E3, the marketing campaign was very promising but most of it is yet to come. The highly-anticipated sci-fi RPG will be CD Projekt Red's largest ever title in terms of marketing spend.
Another big confirmation is the work on another AAA game. Kicinski said that the next project is already underway and that is a completely new game, not a remake or remaster. The studio wants to go beyond gamers imagination with their new title.
However, the development team is still not as big as Cyberpunk 2077's but it's expected that the staff switches to the new title once they wrap up the work on Cyberpunk 2077.
