Cyberpunk 2077 fans may want to plan for contingencies in the hard-drive space department, as CD Projekt Red seemingly prepare an onslaught of updates.
The news comes from prominent YouTuber DreamcastGuy, who says he's received a copy of Cyberpunk 2077 due to an error made by a retailer. Talk about a lucky break, eh?
After seeing a queued Cyberpunk 2077 update weighing in at 43.5GB, he took to Twitter to announce that the highly anticipated RPG's day one patch will weigh as much.
And the kicker? Well, it turns out the update is not the day-one patch at all. Being the good sports they are, CDPR's Fabian Mario Dohla replied to the tweet, saying, "It’s an update but - fun twist - not the update we'll have for launch."
So, there you have it, although we can't say it's surprising to see the most anticipated game of the year receive a bunch of updates early. Surprisingly enough, some players think this is very disappointing, which only points to the absolute ignorance of how games are made.
The more interlocking systems a game has, and Cyberpunk 2077 has a bunch, the number of issues arising from it grows exponentially larger. Maybe, just maybe, instead of complaining about trivial matters like the size of an update, we could just acknowledge CD Projekt Red's superhuman dedication and expertise?
On a more positive note, DreamcastGuy posted his preliminary thoughts on Cyberpunk 2077, and he seems pretty impressed.
"Combat is VERY fun. I'm playing stealth and using rifles. Body tech upgrades are cool but expensive so I don't have many yet. Writing has literally taken my breath away a few times it is so great", he tweeted.
