PlayStation 5's main selling points will be no loading times and custom download according to latest reports. The next-gen console will allow players to download only what they want to play.

As we get closer to the release of the next-gen consoles from both Sony and Microsoft, many new details about consoles' features are starting to surface. We already know have some info such as the super-fast SSD, and AMD-based hardware and today, we have a couple of new details about some of the strongest aspects of Sony's PlayStation 5.

According to Kotaku's Jason Schreier, selective download option and no load times are the features that Sony will use as the biggest selling points for the new console. Apparently, Sony want to allow players to choose what they want to download and play. For example, players will be able to download singleplayer only, without downloading the multiplayer part of the game and vice versa.

On top of this, if players download the entire game, they can delete the single-player campaign once they are done with it and only play multiplayer. "Play right away, download just what you need, no load times will be some of Sony's top-selling points for the PlayStation 5," Schreier wrote in a tweet.

When asked if Xbox Project Scarlett will have the same features, Schreier responded that this information is still unknown to him. Apparently, Microsoft are keeping their cards close to their chest and won't disclose any details about the next-gen Xbox. "Dunno. Some of the folks I've talked to who are briefed on PS5 say Microsoft hasn't been super communicative," Schrier replied.

Of course, there will be a lot of players that won't be impressed with the custom download feature, but those with a slower internet connection will certainly appreciate it. As for the load times, who doesn't love seamless gaming experience?

Next-gen consoles are scheduled to release sometime during Holiday 2020.
