Focus Home Interactive and Passtech Games revealed a new trailer for Curse of the Dead Gods roguelite, announcing its presence at PAX East and Steam Early Access on 3 March 2020.
Curse of the Dead Gods is an upcoming roguelite that apparently boasts great replayability as the game will be modular. In other words, there will be content drops over the course of Early Access on Steam and possibly after the full release as well.
Should the model work and game prove successful, we might be in for another journey that reminds of Dead Cells which Motion Twin are updating to this day.
While the Early Access will start on 3 March 2020, there is no price tag on the Steam page yet. First look and short description has been provided by the developers and Focus Home in the trailer embedded below but more info is coming just a few days from the time of writing.
Curse of the Dead Gods will be presented further during PAX East 2020 and you can check it out on Focus Home Interactive's Twitch channel . The stream will start on 27 February 2020, at 5:00 PM CET / 8:00 AM PT.
According to the reveal trailer, those looking for the challenge through crispy mechanics are in for a treat since there are several aspects that remind of Dark Souls, such as the satisfying moment of successfully parrying an opponent and then dishing out enough damage to impress Phil Swift .
Regarding the story, it seems like the protagonist was greedy in pretty much every way as he sought to gain riches, eternal life and divine powers by entering a shady temple. That didn't go well for him as he ended up in a maze filled with darkness, traps and creatures looking to get their own pound of flesh.
