CD Project Red have released a new batch of Cyberpunk 2077 screenshots and as you'd expect, they're quite gorgeous. On the other hand, considering the sort of equipment Cyberpunk 2077 requires to fire up an in-game menu, they better be.

If you've been following Cyberpunk 2077's development, you're probably well aware that we'll be needing a to run it, or something along those lines. According to the game's Discord channel, the rig they used at E3 2018 ran Intel's i7 8700K CPU, 32 GB of DDR4 RAM, GTX 1080Ti GPU.

Now as mouth-watering as this setup may seem, it was only good for 30 FPS over the course Cyberpunk 2077's demo. The game even crashed at one point in the presentation, when we thought that all Intel's horses and all CDPR's men, would not put Cyberpunk 2077 back together again. Just kidding, I was just dying to put a Humpty Dumpty reference there.

Having said that, Cyberpunk 2077 is still in early stages of development, so it's likely that anything less than the best money can buy at the moment, would've probably made the demo impossible to implement. Well, not exactly impossible, but it would require them to spend time and resources towards optimisation solely for the purpose of the E3 demo, which isn't particularly efficient in terms of game development.

Mike Pondsmith, creator of the original Cyberpunk 2020 tabletop game and CDPR's consultant on Cyberpunk 2077 recently called for fans' patience, claiming that the game needs time to mature into what they've envisioned. He added that it's actually "pretty damn close to what [he] would have built if [he] built it alone [himself] in a broom closet", meaning that the basic framework is pretty much done, leaving only everything else.

As for the screenshots, while they do look pretty cool, it's a bit difficult to describe what we're seeing, since CDPR is still keeping us in the dark for the most part. I mean, I first thought the guy you see above came for acupuncture, only to realise there's more afoot there. Oh well, patience it is.
