Konami have announced that two Castlevania classics - Rondo of Blood and Symphony of the Night will be making their way to PlayStation 4 exclusively. Both games will be packaged in one bundle, which will be named Castlevania Requiem.

Nostalgic PlayStation 4 owners rejoice, as the two timeless classics will be coming to the latest generation as well. Castlevania Requiem bundle is set for release on 26 October 2018, just in time for Halloween, prompting a rather large important question - how many Alucards and Richters are we going to see in clubs and in the streets during Hallow's Eve in 2018.

Back on the topic, the bundle will be priced at $19,99 / €19,99 / £17,99 which is not a bad deal in itself but it might be a bit aggravating for players who owned the Symphony of the Night and Rondo of Blood on older systems.

The official website touts Rondo of Blood as a game with "stunning graphics and beautiful music" which is not untrue, as the Castlevania series has been loved for ages for its aesthetics and soundtracks, besides having interesting story and gameplay. The protagonist in this instalment is Richter Belmont, but players will be able to choose Maria Renard after the second stage, once she's rescued.

Symphony of the Night took a somewhat different direction as it focused on side-scrolling exploration and therefore became the first non-linear game in the series. It still retained RPG and platforming elements, while it also let us play as Alucard, Dracula's estranged son.

Even though he was born to the lord of darkness himself, Alucard had a human mother who was a gentle person. That trait rubbed off on Alucard, which eventually resulted in his decision to oppose Dracula.

While Castlevania Requiem will be a PlayStation 4 exclusive, PC users have had access to both games for years thanks to various emulators. It remains to be seen whether and how Sony and Konami will attempt to put a stop to this.
