At the time when Sony and Microsoft are rushing towards the future, Capcom have taken an opposite direction, offering a device that harkens back to the coin arcades of old.
Retro Station runs an 8-inch 4:3 LCD display at 1024x760 resolution, with an additional option to output HD-quality video via the console's HDMI interface.
In addition to being featured on the console, Capcom's iconic franchise Mega Man has served as stylistic inspiration for Retro Station. And we'd dare say it fits like a glove, with the joystick and buttons completing the retro look.
Retro Station allows for multiplay via an additional Retro Station Fightstick, or by using the PvP dongle. As you'd expect, the latter lets you link up two Retro Stations wirelessly, allowing you to play 2-player games in co-op as well.
In-game audio is provided by two 10W speakers on the sides of the device, although there's also the 3.5mm stereo output for those who wish to use Retro Station with their own sound setups.
Capcom's Retro Station comes with 10 preinstalled games, five each from Mega Man and Street Fighter franchises. The full list is as follows:
- Mega Man: The Power Battle
- Mega Man 2: The Power Fighters
- Mega Man Soccer
- Mega Man X
- Mega Man & Bass (JAPANESE CONSOLE VERSION)
- Street Fighter II"
- Street Fighter II': Champion Edition

- Super Street Fighter II Turbo
- Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo
