It looks like Call of Duty Vanguard won't have the classic minimap. Instead, it could offer a perk that reveals the enemy on the minimap if they fire their un-silenced weapon.
Every time someone mentions minimap changes for the Call of Duty franchise, a massive backlash from the community becomes an instant response. Simply said, the community won't back down on this one no matter how hard the Call of Duty devs tried to change this feature.
For those unfamiliar with the minimap and how it works, it basically reveals the position of the enemy when the enemy fire their un-silenced weapon - which is a pretty traditional way of doing a minimap in a shooter game.
Now, Call of Duty devs tried to change this a couple of times by simply removing the minimap and using the radar at the top of the screen but players were having none of it so the minimap is still in the game.
It looks like the change is once again about to happen in the upcoming Call of Duty Vanguard. According to Call of Duty insider and leaker TheMW2Ghost , Call of Duty Vanguard will have a perk that reveals enemies on the minimap if they shoot their un-silenced weapons.
This basically means that the classic minimap will be gone from the multiplayer and that players will need to use a perk to see get the old school minimap.
As you can see in the replies to the tweets, Call of Duty fans are absolutely ballistic due to the change. However, we should wait for the official details and multiplayer gameplay before making any statements since it's entirely possible that the leaked perk info is out of date.
