Battlefield V's latest game mode is named Grind and it turns the regular maps into narrow and long corridors, emphasizing the infantry-only combat. Grind will be available for a limited time only and it supports four maps at the moment.

EA and Dice have released another free update for their WW2 shooter Battlefield V. The update is now live on all platforms and it brings a brand new, limited time mode to the game. Named Grind, the new mode aims to introduce some changes to a couple of most popular maps by narrowing the playable space and pushing players into tight chokepoints for intense infantry fights.

It supports 64 players with teams of 32 and it's essentially a smaller and narrower version of Conquest with flags, respawn tickets and everything else we already got to see in Battlefield V's most popular mode.

Grind makes the maps much linear and it leaves the teams with only three points to control. At the moment, four maps support the mode - Narvik, where you fight to control the railway, with the two uncaps at each end, Rotterdam, again the focus in on the railway bridge, Devastation - both teams start at opposite sides of the church and have an opportunity to capture an objective on their side before heading into the close-quarter combat within the church.

And last but not least, Twisted Steel will obviously, limit the combat to the railway and by the looks of it's the tightest map of them all. Dice did not confirm if they plan to add Grind to other maps but that is something they'll probably consider if the new mode quickly becomes popular within the community.

Grind will be available from 18 April 2019 and will run for a whole week, before ending on Thursday, 25 April 2019. Dice say that all feedback will be welcomed as they work to make the mode even better when it gets reintroduced in the near future. Additionally, today's update returns Duos to Battlefield V's battle royale mode Firestorm.
