Battlefield V Chapter 3: Trial by Fire is live on all platforms and along with Firestorm, the new chapter will introduce a lot more content over the next 12 weeks. Trial by Fire will add a new map Mercury and new co-op and game modes.
Battlefield V's long-awaited battle royale mode named Firestorm was introduced earlier this week, signalling the start of WW2 shooter's Chapter 3 Trial by Fire.
Battlefield V's third chapter is another batch of free updates that will be delivered in the upcoming months. Chapters usually introduce new ways to play the game including new game modes, maps and missions among other things. Trial by Fire is no different, and it also brings a couple of game modes and a brand new map named Mercury.
In April, Combined Arms update will introduce matchmaking to co-op and two Fjell 652 map missions. One month after the first update, EA and DICE plan to add a Mediterranean map named Mercury. This map is based on the real-life events of Operation Mercury and players will take on a massive invasion along the Cretan coast.
The Battle of Greece will continue in Battlefield V Chapter 4 with another brand new map, but there are no details about that one, just yet.
The new game mode named Outpost will come in June 2019. In Outpost, players will have to build and secure objectives to ensure their team assembles enough soldiers and resources to endure through the fight. According to EA and DICE, Outpost is getting finalised and more info on this particular mode will be shared soon.
Squad Conquest mode, that was originally introduced in Chapter 2: Lighting Strikes will return in Trial by Fire but only for a limited time. As you may know, in this 8 versus 8 take on Conquest, two pairs of opposing squads compete to strategically capture and hold flags until they exhaust the enemy team of their Respawn Tickets.
In Trial by Fire, you'll also get to rank up your Chapter Rank and earn special rewards. These include rare and epic vehicle and weapon skins, clothing items and face paints.
