Bandai Namco has their team, which worked on God Eater, working on a new game named Code Vein. The game is set to launch sometime in the next year.

After teasing everyone with the a trailer with the tagline that read "Prepare to Dine.", Bandai Namco have just revealed their latest project called Code Vein. The game is under development by the team responsible for God Eater. Code Vein will be an action RPG set in the post-apocalyptic future, which sounds very familiar, to say the least.

The game aims to set itself apart from the cookie cutter post apocalyptic setting by adding a vampires to the mix, thus restricting its art to the darker part of the colour spectrum. After drinking some blood provided by the machines known as Blood veils, the character gains some supernatural abilities, other than being able to survive on a diet that consists entirely of blood.

Gameplay will allow exploration of the game's large world. Apart from the weapons available to the player, there will also be the nifty "Gifts". Those would be the abilities you gain by drinking the life juice. You'll also be able to bring an in-game friend along for the ride.

The teaser trailer from a week ago looks stunning. Unfortunately, the images released today don't share the art style we saw in the teaser, but they still look good. Check out the trailer above for the pretty, pretty visuals and then go down to the gallery and browse through the images.

Bandai Namco tossed the words like "worldwide release", 2018, and "major home consoles" around, so using my detective skills both Batman and Sherlock Holmes would be envious of, I've arrived at a conclusion that the Code Vein will be released sometime after 31 December 2017 and before 01 January 2019. Also, the game will be released in the entire world and it will be available for the major home consoles of the time. So PlayStation 4, Xbox One, maybe Project Scorpio, and possibly Switch.
