With excitement over Assassin's Creed: Odyssey seemingly growing with every showing, Ubisoft have launched a trailer where they laid out plans for the game's post launch DLC, some of which is free while the rest...well, it's Ubisoft innit?
Assassin's Creed: Odyssey's director Scott Philips stressed that the base game was never meant to be the whole story, but rather the beginning of it. Likening their post-launch DLC plans to TV shows, he revealed that Odyssey will be getting a steady stream of episodic content.
As you'd expect, Assassin's Creed: Odyssey will be getting a season pass, which will have two overarching stories, each containing three episodes.
The first episode is called Legacy of The First Blade and it hints at the first assassin who took up the blade, "while learning why the assassin's chose to fight from the shadows. It will launch in December 2018, with the next episode launching every six weeks.
Assassin's Creed: Odyssey's second season pass storyline is dubbed The Fate of The Atlantis and will be coming in Spring 2019. Following the same pattern like Legacy of The First Blade, Atlantis deals with the mythical titular city and the first civilisation ever.
To make your parting with your cash a less painful affair, Ubisoft even threw in a carrot in the form of Assassin's Creed 3 Remastered, which will be free should you choose to purchase the season pass.
As for the free stuff, it too will be launched in episodes, starting with The Lost Tales of Greece. Philips said that these are series of free quests that feature familiar as well as new faces. The Tales of Greece will be timed so as to launch in between the paid, season pass episodes.

All in all, Assassin's Creed: Odyssey is already looking like one of the most ambitious Creed game up to date, save perhaps for the first one. It's predecessor, Assassin's Creed: Origins, may not have been everyone's cup of tea, but haven't we all had enough of the same formula being repeatedly milked? Ezio deserved better.
