Assassin's Creed: Odyssey was supposed to have its first live event this week but Ubisoft canceled it due to technical issues apparently. The players were supposed to face Damais the Indifferent, but he lived up to his title in a way.
Assassin's Creed: Odyssey has enjoyed quite the success so far, as it broke all the sales records the previous entries in the franchise set within the first week. While Odyssey took a step forward in Assassin's Creed series sales-wise, some things just remain universal constants, such as Ubisoft's technical issues.
This happened to be the case with the first Epic Mercenary live event, Damais the Indifferent, as Ubisoft that the event has been canceled. The tweet quipped about Damais bailing in the last minute, probably because "the Indifferent" was afraid of the misthios.
It's not clear whether the fans got used to these technical issues due to long term exposure to Ubisoft servers or they just liked the tweet, but they didn't really respond in an angry manner, with most people jesting about Damais' title. Many are now requesting it to be changed to Damais the Chicken when the event actually goes live, so it will be interesting to see if Ubisoft will heed their pleas.
It's not like Assassin's Creed: Odyssey wasn't already filled to the brim with kooky points that made players giggle at least. For example, people can climb statues' penises, , or even on the battlefield with Hirpes, the Burning Fury. Facing Damais the Chicken would be slightly less terrifying than going head on with an STD.
Ubisoft
According to Ubisoft, Damais is not gone forever and players will have an opportunity to challenge him as soon as the issues get fixed. There is currently no ETA on when the issue will be resolved or when the new date for the live event will be set.
Those looking for something to spice things up will be able to participate in an epic ship clash on 23 October 2018. A stated that the ship will appear on the Aegean Sea.
