Assassin's Creed Chronicles is technically a trilogy of games, and it is the one set in China that is free for the taking until 05 February 2019. The game is a different take on Assassin's Creed and definitely not one you should pass on.

Many digital stores are having sales as a part of the Lunar New Year and Ubisoft store is not an exception. While the store is filled with discounts, Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China is completely free for the taking. The deadline to getting it for free is Tuesday, 05 February 2019, and it is not chosen randomly as that's when Chinese New Year happens.

Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China lets you play as Shao Jun, a member of the Chinese Brotherhood of Assassins. She was trained by one of the most famous Assassins in the franchise, Ezio Auditore da Firenze and returned to her homeland to dispatch a group of Templars called the Eight Tigers.

The game is not your usual Assassin's Creed and it doesn't resemble the newer RPG focused titles Origins and Odyssey either since it's a 2D stealth platformer action game. The style used in Chronicles is unique and will likely remind many players of Mark of the Ninja.

The free giveaway may be seen as Ubisoft's attempt to fight for a slice of the market with Steam and Epic Store, but the truth is that uPlay had a habit of giving out freebies for a while now. Anyway, those who are more interested in other Ubisoft games will not be left empty handed either.

If you are itching for a tactical shooter, Rainbow Six Siege is down to $10 / £8.50 for the Standard Edition. Just be careful, for your own sake, not to accidentally purchase the Starter Edition which is a grind fest and also has the same price tag for the duration of the sale.

Far Cry 5 is down to $15 / £17 so European players will evidently need to pay more but this is due to different taxes and not some ploy to rob European players. You can grab the on the provided link, and will likely see the rest of the sale there too.
