Intrepid Studios published a new blog post, offering a glimpse of Ashes of Creation's future including the four Alpha tests, the first of which is commencing before the year's end.
Alpha and beta testing are often terms that are vague at best these days. We keep seeing more and more games using them as preorder incentives instead of proper tests but Intrepid are assuring the fans their Alpha tests will focus on actual testing and getting the game prepared for future development.
The first of these tests will commence on December 18, 2020, and will last for four days. Along with the second one, it will be the most limited of the four tests as only Bravers and Intrepid pack holders will gain access to it. On top of that, an NDA will be in place so the footage, screenshots and feedback from participants will be either limited or non-existent.
Alpha test #2 will happen a couple of months later, starting on February 19, 2021, and will work exactly the same as the first test.
The third one, however, will lift the NDA and this is when we should expect more footage and feedback to start pouring in. Besides those who had access to previous tests, this one will also have "official content creators" in the testing ranks. This test will start on March 19, 2021, and will go on for a week.
Finally, the fourth Alpha test will be available for everyone apparently and the test will go on for a month. It will start on April 6 and conclude on May 6, 2021.
