It's the start of the spooky season and Pokemon GO is building up to the event of the month with a new movie tie-in event, an October Community Day and the continuation of the Season of Mischief.
October 2021 will be an eventful affair in Pokemon GO. On top of the Halloween event, we'll see the Secrets of the Jungle movie tie-in event, more Season of Mischief stories and more information about Hoopa.
Pokemon GO: October Research Breakthrough encounters
You'll have the chance to encounter Yamask in Research Breakthrough encounters from Friday, October 1, 2021, at 20:00 GMT until Monday, November 1, 2021, at 20:00 GMT.
Weekly PokeCoin bundles
The tradition continues! Each Monday in October will bring a one-time purchase bundle holding a Remote Raid Pass and other items to the in-game shop. Bundles are available in exchange for one PokeCoin.

Five-star raids
- The Mythical Pokemon Genesect holding a Douse Drive: from Friday, October 1, 2021, at 10:00 a.m to Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. local time. While this marks the particular Pokemon's debut in the game, its Shiny version will not make an appearance.
- Altered Forme Giratina (and its Shiny version): will appear starting on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. until Friday, October 22, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. local time.
- Darkrai that knows Sludge Bomb: from Friday, October 22, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Friday, November 5, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. local time. This is the Trainers' first opportunity to catch a Darkrai that knows Sludge Bomb, and a great opportunity to score a Shiny Darkrai.

- Mega Gengar: Friday, October 1, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Friday, October 22, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. local time.

Taking place every Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time, each hour will bring a new Pokemon along with a different bonus:
- Tuesday, October 5, 2021: Drifloon; earn twice the XP for evolving Pokemon.
- Tuesday, October 12, 2021: Gastly; twice the Stardust for catching Pokemon.
- Tuesday, October 19, 2021: Gothita; earn twice the XP for catching Pokemon.

October Community Day
Duskull the Requiem Pokemon will be the centre of attention on Saturday, October 9, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. The Community Day event featuring Duskull will trigger more frequent appearances from the Pokemon itself as well as some special features and bonuses.
Events in Pokemon GO to look forward to
Secrets of the Jungle movie tie-in event. The tie-in experience will feature a limited-time Special Research story wherein you can help Professor Willow learn more about Zarude and earn an encounter with the Rogue Monkey Pokemon.
Niantic's Birthday Bash: Everyone who logs in to Pokemon GO between 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. local time on Wednesday, October 6, will receive a free box courtesy of Niantic.
Pokemon GO Halloween event: From Friday, October 15, to Sunday, October 31.
Expect Pokemon in costumes and a brand new Halloween-themed Research story. We'll have more details as we get closer to the event.
